DAY 01. FLY TO DELHI
Fly to Delhi, the capital of India.
DAY 02. DELHI – BAGDOGRA Fly
BAGDOGRA – DARJEELING Drive 90 Km
Arrive Delhi international airport,
transfer to domestic terminal and fly to Bagdogra, from
here a short drive via lofty scenic mountain roads to Darjeeling,
favorite hill station of British rulers who used to move
over every year prior to monsoon.
Surrounded by high mountains,
Darjeeling presents Himalayan tribal life and Tibetan culture
with abundant greenery of the pines and ferns, the white
of the magnolias and the red of the rhododendrons. The hills
soaring high on one side and the lush green plains below
are characteristic of the way to the hill station. Darjeeling
provides panoramic view of snow-cape peaks, besides being
producer of the excellent quality of tea and there are some
of the oldest Buddhist monasteries.

DAY 03. IN DARJEELING
Full day to explore the city and interesting sites.
This queen of hill stations is built on slopes, therefore
some sightseeing spots are reached by stairs. |
Before dawn visit Tiger Hill to witness
the sunrise over Kanchenjunga peak (subject to clear weather),
on the way back brief visit to Ghoom monastery just below Hill
Cart road and the train station near Ghoom is this monastery.
It has an image of the Maitreya Buddha. As Ghoom is frequently
swathed in mists, and the monastery is old and dark, it is often
affectionately called Gloom monastery. Before further exploration
return to hotel for breakfast, then visit Padmaja Naidu Himalayan
Zoological Park, It is situated at an elevation of 2133.5 meters
against the glorious background of the mighty Kanchenjunga. This
zoo in Darjeeling is the only specialized zoo in the country and
is internationally recognized because of conservation breeding
of Snow Leopard and Red Panda. Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
is the landmark in Darjeeling and an important center of tourist
attraction. It commands a magnificent view of Kanchenjunga massif.
Ropeway, Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center,
Tea Estate and Labong Race Course.

DAY 04. DARJEELING – GANGTOK Drive 114 Km
This morning drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, en-route at about 24 km. visit the most important, largest and replica of the Tsruphu monastery in Tibet the “Rumtek monastery”, it is headquarters of the Kargyapa order. The monastery is example of fine art, beautiful wood carving, murals, religious artifacts and traditional design. Arrive Gangtok, check – in at hotel and explore city, mixture of past and present.

DAY 07. GANGTOK – KALIMPONG Drive 51 KM.
Morning leave and drive to Kalimpong, situated at an altitude of 1250 meters between the Deolo and Durbindra Hills. This picturesque town is former headquarters of the Bhutanese Governor. Kalimpong is an ideal place for a quiet holiday amidst gently rolling hills and deep valleys at the foot of the mighty Himalayas. After arrival, check – in at hotel and visit observation point where from one have breath taking view of the Himalayan ranges and valleys, market and monastery.

Morning at leisure in Kalimpong, Early afternoon drive to Bagdogra airport and fly to Delhi, Arrive Delhi airport and transfer to hotel for overnight stay
