Day 01: Fly To Madras
Fly to Madras (Chennai), gateway to South India.
Day 02: Arrive Madras. |
Arrive Madras, after tour manager‘s
meet and greet, transfer to hotel by chartered air conditioned transport.
Complete morning for recovering from Jet Lag. Pre lunch talk ‘Wellington
in India’.
After lunch Tour of Wellington’s Madras, capital of the Madras
Presidency of British India, and now of Tamil Nadu, including Fort
St George (HQ of the East India Company and of the Army in Madras),
the Fort Museum, St Mary’s Church (the oldest British church
in India and attended by Wellington and his brother the Earl of

| Day 03: Madras –
Mahabalipuram – Madras Drive |
After breakfast drive to Mahabalipuram,
This small village offers us the ideal opportunity to relax; the
area is well known for its beautiful temples and miles of beaches,
perfect for an evening stroll or beach - combing. Explore world
heritage 17th century Shore temple, Arjuna's Penance, the world's
largest bas – relief (some 27 m long by 20 m high ), and one
of the most impressive friezes in India, Mandapa cave temples with
interesting relief’s, Five Raths and monolithic temples sculptured
out of the rock in the mid 7th century. Evening return back to Madras.

| Day 04: Madras
– Bangalore Fly, Bangalore – Srirangapatnam –
Bangalore Drive |
Early morning fly to Bangalore home of
the torpedo, arrive Bangalore and transfer to Hotel. Day trip to
Srirangapatnam, after exploration return to Bangalore.
The young Wellington in the Fourth Mysore War (March to May 1799),
including the siege of Seringapatam, the attack on the Tope, the
storming of the city on 4 May 1799, and the death of Tipoo Sultan.

| Day 05: Bangalore
– Poona (Pune) Fly |
After breakfast transfer to airport and
fly to Poona, arrive and transfer to hotel. After wash and change
orientation tour of Poona city, where Shivaji, the great Maratha
leader was raised. Poona one time capital of the Mahratta confederacy
and then of the British Bombay Presidency during the Monsoon.

Ahmednagar Drive |
After breakfast depart and drive to Ahmednagar.
Arrive and check in at hotel, after wash and change, visit 400 year
old Ahmednagar Fort.
Wellington in the First Mahratta War (August/September 1803) and

| Day 07: Ahmednagar
– Aurangabad Drive |
After breakfast drive to Aurangabad and
continue for another 30 km to Ellora Caves, 34 rock-cut temples
here represent the Buddhist, Jain and Brahminic phase. Ellora is
listed as a World Heritage Site and probably the finest examples
of cave architecture anywhere. They include the world’s largest
monolithic sculpture, hewed out of solid rock by 7000 masons over

| Day 08: Aurnagabad
– Assaye – Akola Drive |
After breakfast drive towards Assaye, we
will drive to villages Borkheda and Pipal Gaon, from here may walk
(30 minutes) through battle route to Assaye. Those who doest not
feel to walk, they will continue by vehicle to Assaye. After tracing
the footsteps of Wellington continue the Journey to Akola. Arrive

Argaum Akot – Chikaldara Drive |
After breakfast drive 65 Km to Argaum via Akot. After
exploration drive to Chikaldhara, arrive and check in at hotel.

Full day to explore the vast Gawilghur
Fort, In 1803, in the Second Maratha War, Colonel Arthur Wellesley,
who later became the Duke of Wellington, captured the Gawilgarh

| Day 11: Chikhaldhara
– Nagpur Drive, Nagpur – Bombay Fly |
After breakfast depart and drive to Nagpur,
once the capital of Central Province. Fly to Bombay, arrive Bombay
and transfer to Hotel. Night Stay: Hotel |

| Day 12: In Bombay

Wellington’s and Imperial Bombay,
acquired by the British as part of the Portuguese Catherine of Braganza’s
dowry when she married King Charles II in 1661. Transfer to hotel
and leave for orientation tour includes Gateway of India, built
by George Wittet on the waterfront at Apollo Bunder. The Prince
of Wales’s Museum, and Crawford Market.
